This proposal for a South Beach Museum design competition celebrates beachheading in multiple ways: politically as the first refuge towards asylum, urbanistically as the projection of a city gateway into its natural edge, ecologically through the deposition of sediment to create verdant dunescapes, and socially in the overlap of the formal and the pleasurable public zone. Responsive to tidal energy, the proposal functions as a beacon when isolated and a  porch when connected.
